We are young We are far Born in this world as it all falls apart We are strong We don't belong Born in this world as it all falls apart...
Young - Hollywood Undead
Hip-hop + rock... i dont think you can go wrong with these guys... lyrics are OK... a few ridiculous party themes in their songs... but all their songs have great flow to them... if you can look past the occasional cursing (though excessive in 1 or 2 songs) and the occasional immature lyrics (again in 1 or 2 songs) most of their album Swan Songs are great to listen to... to get pumped for something or whatever...
Hold that thought actually.... this song "Young" is prolly one of the only appropriate songs... lol... I would classify half of their other songs pretty party hard songs! which isn't bad... depends on your music taste... and the other half are of various topics... hard to explain.
So if you're looking for a cool change in your music collection check these guys out, Hollywood Undead... they're from California so they have to be chill right?
Well my birthday's over... it's been an awesome past 29 hours... and i say the last 29 because i celebrated my birthday on friday night too! =]
Actually... i'll try to cut through as much fluff as possible and get down to what's been on my mind recently... There aren't many people that read this in the first place... especially with the new facebook hiding the link to this... but i still do appreciate those who come along once in awhile to read.

Sooo my friday night was one of the highlights of my birthday weekend. 5 of us (3 girls, 2 guys) went out to a dance party somewhere in cambridge. We chilled out in my apartment before going.... that was fun to say the least... at the dance party there was plenty of dancing to go around... i danced with a handful of random girls of varied... attractiveness... and yes i'd say from the scale of 1-10... i danced with both extremes... we were all pretty exhausted... but still ended up coming back to my apartment to chill.... which we just lounged around and talked till like 4 am... it was a good time all around, definitely one of the more memorable birthday things i've done... but hey you'll never know what's in store for the future....?
Anyways... i didn't get much sleep... maybe 6 hours before i woke up, showered, and was treated to some birthday DotA... very appreciative of that... the guys i play along side with are always give me laughs. After a couple games, i went out to Sushi for lunch... dunno if it was the BEST food i should have eaten after what i did the night before.... on top of that... my legs/quads were/are pretty sore right now hahaha... then just chilled around with friends till dinner came around where we tried to get as many people that i thought would come out to my birthday dinner... but that sorta failed in some areas... nevertheless a handful of us were going to go to Chinatown for dinner... but someone came up with the wonderful suggestion of going to Super 88... like i haven't been there too many times since i've been in boston... lol... either way the super 88 food court is amazing... i love Korean food... good times all around... then after we got back to NEU we watched a movie to end my birthday!... after the previous night i definitely needed a more relaxed birthday lol
OK! onto my random thoughts that have been all over the place the past couple days...

As a single 19 year old, in college, and out of a relationship for awhile now... there is a certain mindset that takes over when he is pursuing a girl... As with almost every other person, boy or girl, in a similar situation or not, liking someone is a poison. The poison that blinds that person from seeing anything negative there may be in the person they like. This is all a talk around the inevitable topic of infatuation! Man it's hard to talk around it. So i suppose my point is that i HATE infatuation... because in most cases... infatuation can be good or bad, you never really know! The good being that you are more attracted to the person you like on many different levels. They can be any combination of Physical Beauty, Personality Connection, or you just like being around that person for whatever reason you choose! You like talking to them, seeing them, and all that cheesy jazz. Then you either stay in that infatuation... or you're snapped back into reality by yourself or some other means... That brings up where infatuation can be bad... as i mentioned before it blinds you!!~ those little things that would usually turn you "off" in the significant other become OK... Not saying that you're picky... we all our standards in someone we're pursuing... but there's a limit where some trait in someone else can cross the line and just totally break apart the foundation of what makes us, us!
Foundations of ethics and moralities are the two biggest and probably the only two players of the personality game between two people... people have certain ethics that others either agree with, are neutral with, or just totally disagree with... same goes with morales... we build up these two things to our own standards... whether it be from our parents teaching us or from our own life experiences... but when infatuation comes into play... alot of the time these foundations get thrown out the window.... sure we all love the way our hearts skip a beat when we see a certain person... i dunno if it's infatuation.. maybe it's how the beginning of love for someone begins... but at this point in our lives... early in our college careers... is it really worth chasing after that pretty girl you see everyday or every other week? is it really worth chasing after what makes us feel good inside?? Well of course it is!!!! hahahaha.... sadly... it's what drives a lot of us... in all our busy lives... what brings us looking forward to the next day?? definitely not the test that's coming up in our mathematics class.... nor the lab write up that's due at 6pm the next day... No... it's the pursuit of something more out of our daily routines... whether it be the infatuation or the real thing of pursuing... something more real??? i really dunno... i'm really tired right now... so maybe i'm just talking jibberish...
So some closing thoughts....
I'm too young to be really think about such relationships... though that doesn't mean i can get to know potential future significant others... and whatever happens is just going with the flow...
As cliche as it may sound to some... i like the good girls... whatever you want to consider a good girl... my standards are probably different for everyone... but i think you can get the jist of things...
To add on top of #2... i like a girl who isn't too too shy... i like the type that opens up to you when they trust you... not hide stuff or are too afraid to speak up... headstrong girls are always a plus... though many girls probably don't think they're the "headstrong" type... but then again it's all in my retrospect.
uhhhh man it's 2:30 am... i've been writing this post for awhile now... on and off through aim... so my thoughts MIGHT be all over the place... and for that i'm very sorry... but i do thank you for reading!
My bday month is always great... it signifies the start of a new school year, new experiences, new everything!
School's been interesting so far, i've had a ton of breaks (between and after class) that i've been spending catching up with old friends from all over, though i KNOW those breaks will soon be filled with library hours and hw stuff.... I haven't had much hw for the first few days, though there are a few things due next week, guess i'm starting the year with a little procrastination! hehehe. I've been also walking around WAY too much... my feet are usually sore by the end of the day, not to mention i'm also going to the gym every few days to add ontop of the aches i experiences, but it's nothing compared to sitting through lectures with TERRORBAD professors...
It's interesting how i've seen certain people more so than others... it's good for the people i'm seeing more often, but it also saddens me that i don't get to see other friends. But overall things haven't changed too much. I'm meeting a buncha new kiddies that are pretty cool, though not many freshies hehe. I think this semester's going to be very rewarding for me in many ways, except for maybe the school part.... then again in the beginning of everything there's a "high", and it may be hard to keep that high state of mind till the end... my optimistic-ness is fairly high these days though, i love it. My bed is still ridiculously comfortable, which makes my nights when i lay down for sleep or just to rest.
Well this has been a really quick post, i may add some more things later... but i gotta get to class right now... i only have 1 class on friday!! woot and it's at 1145... let's just say i had an amazing sleep.
Through my years of living i think that one of the most amazing things that I've witnessed is the relationship that is the marriage of my parents. What makes it so amazing? Well let's just say I've been there for the countless fights along with the happy giddy times where they just make each other laugh to the point of out-of-breath-ness. The fights were usually fierce. My parents are not like the 'typical' Chinese marriage. For example, my mom is the dominant one, loud mouthed, loves to engage in conflict/debate and on the other hand my dad is the somewhat passive type (but has that inner tiger if irritated) and is patient when it comes to conflicts. So when it comes down to intense fighting they both are usually at each other's necks... since my dad runs out of patience and the tiger comes out... and then my mom's just constantly on fire. I am glad to say though that these types of fights have minimized a huge amount over the years... almost to none at all... that's the kind of development and dedication i admire. You know how they say that fighting helps a marriage grow and such? Well i definitely believe that now...
The ability to constantly make each other laugh and spend time with each other without getting tired of it is also a huge thing to admire. Though as simple as it sounds, staying with one person for a long time, living with them, dealing with them, etc etc... it really isn't that simple. But when you look at the "stereotypical" love bird relationship these days I'm sure somewhere along the way they say in their minds or to each other that they can live with their significant other... forever! they make it seem simple!... but then you see it around every corner... something goes sour and forever turns into 3 months and 5 days... or maybe 4 years 5 months and 16 days... you get the point. I'm not saying that all marriages are happily ever after till the end... cause obviously with today's society we can see that that is not the case at all! And that's dealing with both relationships (bf/gf) and marriages. I'm sure there's some statistic out there that says how many married couples are genuinely happy with their current state... and how many are not at all, but they still stick through it... it's the ones who are happy and still together though that we should look at and strive for. Yeah i know how unrealistic that sounds... but ideally speaking... it's what we all want i'm sure.
I guess it's a little far into the future to think about... marriage and all... but a lot of the time the time period that it takes to get to know someone is a good indication of where the relationship is going (if it's meant to become a relationship). I'm also very wrong in the respect that not all relationships are the same, but from my perspective it's one way that i see how things go for relationships. In a way i'm being a huge idealist here, but in a broad sense, i'd say that what my parents have now is what i'd aim for in the future. Not exactly like my parent's relationship, as they are not perfect in every way, but more along the lines of just being happy with a future significant other for (ideally) the rest of our lives... wow i must sound really... hopeful (there's prolly a better word for that)... lol
Thus as a young male in today's fun filled world i can say that i foolishly seek that one significant other who, as they say it, "completes me". Of course I encounter, on countless accounts, personalities that i feel i have "chemistry" with but most of the time it's just a nice personality i'm dealing with... nothing more. (there are just too many factors to think about!) I look forward to the day however where i can say "she's the one" to myself. I know in the end God will bring me to the right one though... so i guess i really have nothing to think about deeply... the time will come! =]
Home-made sushi and Starbucks frap... breakfast of a lazy college student before his move back into the busy college life... Heated up to the right temperature so that the sushi just barely melts in his mouth... along side with the brisky starbucks frap makes waking up at 1 pm that much more satisfying... eating and enjoying this wonderful meal he lounges around and watches TV shows off ninjavideo... for an hour or so... maybe a movie if there's one of interest... and the day begins!
I cannot imagine what i would be like if i didn't have a job this summer. While my brother was at summer school... i was keeping myself busy and making money... but if i didn't have the job?? oh man... i guess i would find something to do... but i'd be a complete mess. The only thing that's keeping me going is school... (and prison break season 4 this monday... can i get an omg?... o.m.g. thanks rofl...) thus i justifies me being a complete bum for this week... and some of next week... where i'll be cleaning the pitiful space called 'my room'... which isn't TOO bad... but it's definitely gotten worse since i stopped working... mainly the food remains on my desk... though i clean it here and there (when it gets too cluttered to eat dinner on my desk hahaha)... like right now theres... an almost empty bag of cheez-its... few snapple bottles... starbucks frap bottles...a knife from when i went to cluck U... and a wrapper that belonged to this power bar made by chex mix called the Turtle... it's really really good surprisingly... (i just threw out the wrapper... dont worry i'm not that lazy)... so yes... i wouldn't say that this is the best way of living... lounging all day... watching tv shows... movies... playing video games... and the occasional exercise hour... very occasional.... lol I don't plan on being one of those lazy bums who just sits around and gains weight... i'm proud that i maintain a weight range that fluctuates day to day yes... but always is in the same range... and yes i weigh myself same time everyday -being after i shower... though it prolly varies since my sleep schedule is random.
So basically... i'm a bum for the next week... still... damn it's wednesday already... oh well...
In the future i want to experience one of those full mirror walls.... you know the ones that dancers use... not that i haven't seen one in action... but i actually want to use one myself! One of my guilty pleasures is actually dancing to music in my room! xD though i usually take out my old glowsticks and play around with those... and it's pretty cool to watch myself in what mirrors i have in my room, which are actually a decent size... but there really isn't much floor space per say... thus it limits a few things in my movement... and yes... i rave with the lights off... it's really amazing... really... Though i hope i can expand my horizons some time in the future... maybe learn some new techniques... and maybe teach some others... speaking of which... last semester i tried teaching one of my friends in my dorm hall how to rave... as easy as it is for me... some people have a hard time lol... i really dont know how i picked up so easily... or maybe i just dont remember when i was a big fat noob at raving... yeah that's prolly it... hehehe
I think the best benefit of sleeping a lot, beyond the obvious satisfaction of rest and the benefits that come with rest, is dreaming. On these last lazy summer days i've been indulging in my last sleeping binges before i head back into the weeks of sleep depravity and late nights. So of course with tons of sleep i dream a bunch, sometimes 2-3 dreams that... I consider to be separate, but pretty sure in my memory were all jumbled together somehow. I do wish that dreams actually meant something... though random they may be, they usually deal with something i've seen in the previous day, but the dream could be about something TOTALLY different, but still related to whatever happened in the previous day... actually... thinking about it, dreams can be of anything... to think i was actually trying to categorize dreams... heh... I'm sure it's different for everyone. Dreams deal with things that revolve around our lives... never has to be specific, but i'd say 90% of my dreams have some part of my life in them... a person, an object, event, etc...
I'm sure we all wonder what the purpose of our dreams are... at least i surely wish some dreams were reality... as foolish as it sounds... i've actually had dreams that almost had me thinking it was real... on the other hand... all our dreams prolly feel like they're real and only till we awake from them do we realize it was just a dream. I remember having a dream long time ago about me like failing a test... and i was like SOOO worried in my dream... then when i woke up and it was like the day i was going to find out my grade... but i definitely had a huge sigh of relief on my mind... those kinds of dreams are freakin scary man... thankfully i dont think i had failed the test... lol but yeah those dreams where everything goes your way... or it feels like you can stay in that place forever... i love those dreams... cept when you're out of the dream... it like snaps you back into reality and basically disappoints your mind... =(
Anywayssss... guess that really didn't have much of a point...
Right now... i really can't say how i feel about life. There really isn't anything big going on... so i wouldn't say i'm sad or anything... but not happy happy as i would like to be. Though as always... it's the little things that add up to make happiness... so i guess there haven't been many small things?? Some things just never follow through unfortunately... I look forward to keeping myself busy at school... but for the next two weeks i'm going to just bum around... watch movies... be lazy... and bask in relaxation! xDD (everyone's gone/going back already =((( )
I'll leave you with this video that i saw awhile back... but i watched randomly while writing this and well... it's just awesome hahahah
Right now i'm thinking about how long this post is going to be... or potentially it could be... I haven't posted in a few weeks and i'm kinda disappointed i couldn't because i had a buncha things i wanted to write about and i think i forgot a handful of them.
My lack of posting has been contributed to a bunch of things... mainly that my brother came home from his college summer course... and i've been hanging out with him excessive amounts since this is one of our last times together for a long time... since he's graduating this fall and then probably getting a job and moving out of the house etc etc etc... along with the fact that i won't be home consistently for a long time as due to the fact that i'll be switching between co-ops and school for the next 3 years...
I'm curious as to what it's going to be like... going on coops and switching back to school... considering the fact that potentially half of my school peers aren't going to be at school when i am... and vise versa when i'm on coop... thus will I not really talk to them?? or even see them for that matter?!?! that's kinda strange to think about... to know someone for a year and half.. then sorta stop seeing each other due to technicalities... i mean then you bring in the power of facebook... which... as my brother was saying fills in for a buncha different things as i'm sure you know... for pictures... small talk... or real talk... and all those little things facebook provides us with lol...
(though i'm not totally keen on the new facebook layout... whenever it randomly pops up... i stick with the old facebook... new facebook is just ew.... like taking a pepperoni pizza and eating it with peanut butter..... or something like that)
Anyways it's sorta sad that everyone's already going back to college so soon... and started classes too... like... damn... at NEU we start later than everyone else... then get back earlier than everyone else... go figure eh... maybe we're just smarter.. and learn faster n stuff... lolz... (or it's because we dont get "Fall Break" and other BS days off) So i'm stuck around till September 5th... which surprisingly is coming up really fast... but i suppose it was going to come inevitably... this summer's been a freakin long one... 4 months... and maybe a little more... it's hard to think back to the beginning... i was pretty much a bum... sleeping till 3-4 PM... going to sleep really early in the morning... getting around 12 hours of sleep... i'll definitely miss it come this fall... where i have 8 AM classes.... ughhhhhh... though i can say this summer didn't go to a full waste being a bum... i got a bunch of money from working for my dad's company... which was very generous... my dad's company actually wanted to pay a generous amount... in order to keep taxes down... since he's made so much money this year already... but i guess i don't really mind. Money's money and i plan to spend it wisely! err i mean save it... wisely... yeah... anyways thinking back i just remembered going to Florida for a bit... then training for the 5K run... and watching the greatest StarCraft players in the world play while i worked... good times! man time flies doesn't it?
I guess it's good to look back... considering i've been quite occupied lately...
On another note my uncle is now Cancer FREE which is amazingly awesome... to actually be "cured" of cancer must be just the best news in the world. I'm happy for that definitely. I saw him when i went to Florida and he was just getting through with the Chemotherapy... he wasn't eating much and had lost a lot of weight... but by the time i left he was showing improvements in eating habits and the such.... All i can say is Thank You God! I had actually brought it up as a prayer request in my small group when i had received the news last semester... it's always a joy to know prayer goes a long way.
Yeah... i'm tired right now... and i gotta wake up tomorrow to say bye to my brother at the airport.... this post has been QUITE random i'm sure... but i didn't feel like making is dedicated to one topic alone since it's been awhile... If you actually read all of it... or even half of it... well... then you're cool in my books. =]
